The Second Trimester of Pregnancy:

Weeks 13-27

In pregnancy, your second trimester starts from week 13 to week 27. During this time, you may start to look pregnant and may need to wear maternity clothes. Around 16 weeks, The fundus (top of your uterus) will be just about half way between your pelvic bone and your belly button. When you get to 27 weeks pregnant, the fundus will be just about 2 inches or more above your belly button.

Your fetus is about 10 inches long and weighs about 1.5 lbs.

This time is said to be the easiest part of pregnancy. The breast tenderness, fatigue and morning sickness that women experience in the first trimester lessen during this particular trimester. Pressure on your bladder may lesson as your uterus grows upward and out of your pelvis.

Usually women who are experiencing their first pregnancy begin to feel fetal movement around 18-22 weeks after your last menstrual period (LMP). Even though your fetus has been swimming and moving about for many weeks, they movement is not strong enough to notice them much earlier than that. Sometimes, you may be unaware that you are even feeling actual fetal movements! If you have been pregnant before, you may begin to notice earlier movement at around 16 and 18 weeks of pregnancy.

Symptoms of you may experience in your second trimester of pregnancy are:
