Adoption Baby Shower:
Planning an adoption baby shower can be loads of fun! There are some things to consider in your planning.
Things that will make your shower a successful one.
Adopting a child is a wonderful time for a family, although there may be moments of having to slow things down, and be patient. Filling out tons of paperwork and having a home study done for qualifications can
be tiresome, and dampen the excitement.
But, what a great way to cheer up the adoptive parents by planning a wonderful adoption baby shower!
Picking a date:
Consider a date selection that works best for the parents that are adopting. Family and friends
may be excited about the idea that an adoption is about to happen, and are anxious to start buying
for the new baby, but think of whether the parents are comfortable about getting their baby's room
set up before the final adoption paperwork is final! Work with the parents to be sure of a perfect
date and time for the baby shower.
Choosing a theme:
Traditional baby showers often feature adorable teddy bears, nursery rhymes, the common but cute winnie the pooh baby shower,
my personal favorites: a duck baby shower, a snoopy baby shower theme, or blue or pink baby booties theme. There
are more baby shower themes that can be incorporated into a perfect adoption baby shower. If the baby is born
in another country, a theme that includes aspects of the baby's culture can work well. This way, it
introduces the little one to his/her future family members and friends. It gives a close feeling or
connection to the child before he/she arrives. Even if the child is born in the US, it can be fun to incorporate into the
theme certain aspects from the state in which they were born! Goodness, there are so many unique baby
shower ideas! How about Maryland crab cakes as baby shower appetizers for the bouncing Baltimore-born baby!
Or a quaint Cape Cod theme for a beautiful baby boy that may have been born in Hyannis, Massachusettes!
Invitation selection:
Choosing the right adoption baby shower invitation can be a smooth process. It involves proper baby shower wording and images.
Just be sure to stay away from invitations that reflect the perspective of a biological mother.
Examples of this would be baby shower invitations that have pictures of a pregnant woman. You
can always consider making your own and visit websites to assist you with wording for baby shower invitations. For images, you can find baby shower clip art online.
A Simple design you can consider is a baby shower footprint invitation. Creating your own can save
you money as well as there are plenty of free printable baby shower invitations that can be downloaded.
Gifts:
Adopting a newborn makes it easy for guests to choose an adoption baby shower gift for baby. But what if the parents are
adopting a toddler? This can make the guests unsure of what is needed for the little one. A great
solution to this would be for the parents to start a registry in a store or suggestions for the
guests to assist them in choosing gifts that you really will need and that will have good usage for.
